Warning! The Mosen Explosion Contains Real Explosives! #MosenOnAir
After a wee break, I'm back with you for another four hours of explosive fun. And all the time zones have now settled into their new slots for another few months, which means I get to start my show at 8 AM my time. How positively civilised is this?
Here in New Zealand, we still keep the rather bizarre tradition, inherited from England, where we commemorate or celebrate the failed gun powder plot of 5 November. This is the time of year where we let off plenty of fireworks. This year, we could even get fireworks delivered with the pizza!
The Wellington City Council also puts on a massive pyrotechnic display, and that's where Bonnie, two of the bananas and I were on Saturday evening. I took along my iPhone 6 Plus and Zoom IQ5 microphone, and we've already pre-recorded a bit of the Mosen Explosion from the fireworks, complete with plenty of real explosives!
There are two ways you may like to enjoy this segment of the show. First, listen to it with a bloody good sub-woofer, because boy will the fireworks come to life that way! Second, put on a good pair of headphones and immerse yourself in the stereo sound, it'll be just like being there.
David is along with a banana report this week, we've got a Bonnie Bulletin to look forward to, a bumper crop of very wacky news stories, a look back at this day in history, and plenty of your interaction via Twitter and email to take the show in directions yet unknown.
Tom Fogerty of Credence Clearwater Revival was born on this day in 1941, so CCR will be our featured artists and we welcome your CCR requests. I must make sure we play my favourite song of theirs, the one that talks about "there's a bathroom on the right".
So as you can see, it's going to be a bumper, particularly explosive show this week, and I would love to have you a part of all the fun.
We're on at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM in the UK. And you need look no further for all the fun than right here on The Bell. http://The-Bell.net
