You’re Weekend Is Closing In
Hi Everyone. After a cold and wet week in Dublin Town, It will be my absolute pleasure to Welcome You To The Weekend, where it will be warm and dry. Your’re weekend will officially begin on Friday night at 7 PM in the UK and Ireland or 2 PM Eastern. The Place you need to be is www.the-bell.net for the hottest music and warmest friendly banter to get you’re weekend off on the right foot. All our usual features are in place for you to enjoy:
Kick-Start. This opening tune as usual sets us up for the weekend. This weekend Ireland play Scotland in a very important football match, and this is definitely reflected in this upbeat tune from 1988.
Double-Take. As the names suggests, this feature is about playing two tracks by the one artist. By request this weekend, we hear two tracks from the B-52’s. A band who had a lot of success in the 1990’s.
The Irish Connection. In this feature we hear two tracks by two different Irish artists. This weekend we hear a number 1 in the UK singles charts ten years ago from a Dublin band, and from a band that was very successful ten years before that.
The One That Got Away. Often described by a listener as his favourite part of the show, it’s a track that doesn’t get much radio airplay. A forgotten single or an album tracks fits the bill here. This time by request we hear a track released in 1985 by a German band, that was by far their biggest hit.
As always there is plenty of room for you to request a tune that would make you feel good this weekend, and I’d love to hear your suggestion. Getting in touch to request something, to suggest anything for our regular features or to tell me how you’d like to spend the next two days of freedom is very easy. You can:

I’d love to hear from you.
If you’re having a quiet night in with a take away and a bottle of something, getting ready to head out on the town, or multi-tasking and keeping an eye on the Ireland V Scotland game, I’d love the pleasure of your company if you can make it. Let’s Welcome The Weekend together only on the Bell, the sound of good radio.
