In Need of Another Noughty Nineties?

Well, never fear ... your weekly dose is almost here.

With this week seeing the annual airing of the BBC's Children In Need telethon that raises money for disabled and disadvantaged minors, I'll be playing this year's charity single and many of those that have come before. I'd also love to get your thoughts on the shows, songs and other activities that surround charities like Children In Need and Comic Relief.

Elsewhere, I'll be picking through some of the week's strangest news stories, including a rather costly and unusual proposal made in China and involving the one and only fruity phone.
