Welcome To Friday.
Hi everybody. Wow, what a quick week that has been, where is the time going these days. At 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, that’s 2 PM Eastern it will be time for me, Brian D to Welcome You To The Weekend on www.the-bell.net. Where ever you are in the world, I will have the usual mix of feel good music and friendly banter to lift you from the trials and tribulations of the week that was, into the joys of the weekend. All our usual features are here for your enjoyment.
Kick-Start. Like a good breakfast on a cold and frosty morning, this opening tune will set you up for the weekend. This week we hear a track released in 1982 that definitely sets the tone for the next few days in the Dalton household.
Double-Take. At the bottom of the first hour, we hear two tracks by the one artist. This time we hear from a gentleman who had 6 top ten hits between the years 1983 to 1986. Howard Jones is the artist we feature on this occasion.
The Irish Connection. Exactly one hour later, I play two tracks from two different Irish artists. Ireland may be a small country, but the amount of musical talent on show is massive. This weekend we hear from a gentleman who was relatively unknown this time last year, but now his debut album has charted highly on the Billboard American charts. We also hear from a Dublin band whom we had on our Double-Take a few short weeks ago.
The One That Got Away. This is a track on the show that doesn’t get much radio exposure. It gives us a chance to hear a forgotten single or an album track. By request this time, we hear an artist from Liverpool in the UK that I had never came across before, and play a track that was released in 1996.
As well as all that, I have plenty of room for you to request a tune that would put you in top form this weekend, and I’d love to hear from you. You can send me an email at briand@the-bell.net or tweet me at daltobr.
Happy Friday everyone. I’m looking forward to hearing the sound of the Bell, to begin you’re weekend.
