Welcome To The Weekend
Hi everyone. Every Friday at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, that’s 2 PM Eastern, I look forward to offering you a warm Welcome To The Weekend. The place to be is www.the-bell.net
If you have been a regular listener to the show, the format will be exactly the same. If your tuning in for the first time, my mission should you choose to accept it, is to allow me wipe away the stress of your busy week and leave you feeling totally relaxed and ready for the weekend that is ahead of you. I promise to do this by playing lots of up beat and feel good music, mixed with a large helping of friendly banter. Your interaction during the show is very welcome and I’d love to hear from you.
If you happen to be on the move this weekend, that’s no problem you can take the show with you if you like. We are available in many of the radio directories that can be accessed on your portable device or Smart Phone such as: iTunes, ooTunes and TuneIn. If you enter the-bell in the search area, you will be able to save this station as a favourite.
The show will contain many regular features for your enjoyment such as:
Kick-Start. This will be the opening track of the show and will set the pace for your weekend. This week I have chosen a track released in 2010, which is appropriate for celebrating my first show on the Bell.
Double-Take. In this part of the show which happens at half past the first hour, I play two tracks by the one artist, as well as telling you a little about the artist in question. This week we hear 2 tunes from an American Country Music band formed in 2002 that I had the pleasure of seeing live a few weeks ago.
The Irish Connection. At half past the second hour, we will hear two tracks by two different Irish artists. In this feature, I expose some of the music from the Island of Ireland where the show is broadcast from each weekend.
The One That Got Away. This slot in the show is dedicated to a track which does not get much of a hearing on the radio. I dust it off, drag it out into the light and play it for you. It could be a forgotten single or an album track, the choice is totally yours. It is a real chance to hear something that you may not have heard on the radio for a very long time, if ever.
Your suggestions for any of the features above are most welcome, or if there is a particular tune you’d like to hear during the show that makes you feel good, I’d love to hear from you.
