The Bell Shows and Syndication

Hi everyone

Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to at least two shows for the moment, these are the Sunday Sofa Session and Happy Hour. We do wish the presenters all the luck in the world for the future.

At the Bell, we have made a decision not to have our shows available for syndication. We tried it with a number of stations carrying limited shows. In point of fact these were private arrangements between the broadcasters themselves and the stations concerned, in that there were no formal agreements (or any correspondence) between the stations and the Bell directly. But initially we were happy to give it a try.

Given that during the syndicated programming, shows by other producers were not being promoted, we felt this to be quite tough on those people who were doing as much preparation and hard work, and the Bell was gaining very little in the way of people listening. It was an experiment which in our view simply didn’t work. There is nothing more to it than that.

The Bell is a small station, but despite this we look forward to bringing you whatever entertainment we can, when we can. We hope when shows are on the air you will be happy to listen.
