The Music Machine, Court in the Act, the Lawyers' Party
Hi everyone
In accordance with Section 49, Subsection 1 (B), (III), Paragraph 5 of the Internet Broadcasting Act 1999, and subject to Section 128 of The Bell’s licencing agreement 2014, we hereby give notice that a party will take place for those persons of the legal profession, (Barristers, Solicitors and Judges), on Saturday at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM UK, www.the-bell.net. The police may also be in attendance to circumvent any crime which may be committed.
Seriously, that’s the subject of this week’s Music Machine theme on The Bell, songs that might appeal to a group of Lawyers attending a party. They can be about crimes being committed, pleas of guilty or not guilty, or the court room. But we’re more interested in songs about judges and lawyers and what they might do within the course of their work.
For song suggestions, one avenue you might explore is the plea of guilty and how that has been portrayed within songs. The Pearls with “Guilty” is a good example of a story about a girl who pleads guilty to being in love with a man, since she has been “found and convicted of a serious crime”. But any song suggestions that might be played at a party of lawyers would be very welcome! It should be a fun show this one.
Do feel free to get in touch. You can email brian@the-bell.net with any song suggestions, or you can send a tweet to @brianhartgen. You’re not obliged to contact the show, but if you do so, any text may be announced on the air.
I look forward to being with you on Saturday, and of course the show will be totally legal!
