Long Weekend
Hi Everyone. As the title suggests, it’s a long weekend in Ireland this weekend. On Friday at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, or 2 PM on the East Coast of America, I would very much like to Welcome You To The Weekend on www.the-bell.net. I will have a large stack of feel good fantastic music, along with friendly banter for you to enjoy. I will of course, have plenty of room for your requests too, if you’d like to hear a tune that makes you feel good this weekend.
I will have all the usual features for you to enjoy such as:
Kick-Start. This opening tune of the show sets the pace for our weekend. This weekend we play a track that was recorded in the 1970’s, but was a hit in the 80’s.
Double-Take. In this part of the show I play two tracks by the one artist. This time we hear two tracks from the talented and popular Aloe Blacc.
The Irish Connection. This is the slot in the show where I play two tracks from two different Irish artists. This week we hear two tracks from an artist that has been recording and releasing music for the last 20 years. He was part of a very successful boy band and had a very successful solo career. We hear a track from each part of his career.
The One That Got Away. This slot of the show is totally given over to a track that doesn’t get much radio exposure. It can be a forgotten single or an album track. This week I have gone for an album track, taken from an album released in 1991. The album sold 7 million copies in the US.
Contacting the show to request anything for our features, a tune you’d like to hear or simply for a mention is very easy, and I’d love to hear from you. You can:
Email, briand@the-bell.net, or tweet @daltobr.
Why not join me live from Dublin Town, right here on the East Coast of Ireland, as I wipe away your busy week and set you up for the weekend, on the Bell. The Sound of good radio.
