Fabulous Fun On Friday
Hi everyone. The day of the week that makes me feel absolutely fabulous, as I look forward to lots of fun at the end of the working week Is Friday. It is on Friday at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK or 2 PM Eastern that this fun will begin, as I Welcome You To The Weekend on www.the-bell.net. I promise to play you a stack of up beat music mixed with friendly banter to put a smile on your face, as your weekend begins.
Our regular features definitely fit this promise, such as:
Kick-Start. This opening tune sets the bar for the next couple of hours and for the weekend ahead. This week we hear a bouncy tune from 1995, by a group from the UK which is a real ear worm.
Double-Take. In this feature at half past the first hour, we hear two tracks by the one artist along with a little bio about the artist in question. On this occasion we hear two tracks from Supertramp, who were very popular between the mid 1970’s to early 1980’s.
The Irish Connection. An hour later at the bottom of the second hour, we hear two tracks from two different Irish artists. World Cup fever is in the air this weekend, so I play two tracks that were written and recorded for two previous campaigns that Ireland was involved in. Both times brought a bucket full of happiness to the people of Ireland as we lapped up a real party atmosphere.
The One That Got Away. In this feature we hear a hidden track which doesn’t get much radio exposure. Covered by time, this slot is devoted to a tune that is either a forgotten single or album track. This weekend I play a single that was released in 1981, by a lady from Bradford in the UK that was her only hit.
If you’d like to request a tune that makes you feel good this weekend, suggest anything for our regular features or perhaps share your plans with me for the weekend ahead, I’d love to hear from you. You can:

Where ever you are in the world, If you’ve got half an eye on the footy, walking in the park, heading out on the town or just simply relaxing on the couch and letting your mind unwind after the busy week, your company is most welcome this weekend as we spend a few hours together on the Bell, live from Dublin Town, calling clearly across the miles.
