The Music Machine, a Show of 2 Parts
Hi everyone
During the past few weeks, we’ve had a couple of themes on the Music Machine where some songs have been left over. There have been too many good ones which have fitted into the theme, we’ve been talking about them, and the time has just run away. So this week, I’ll play those which remain.
Firstly, and indeed for the majority of the show, we’ll be hearing songs with speech rather than singing. If you can think of a song which mainly contains speech, do feel free to let me know so we can complete our playing of these.
For the remainder of the show, I have a few pairs of songs to play which sound alike. Again, suggestions are very welcome, and both of those recent shows are available on our website for you to listen again at

Just a word or two about next week. We have part 1 of a documentary, the Radio 1 Story. The Music Machine has always celebrated good radio, particularly of the 60’s and 70’s, and this is the part of the story which has not been told as yet. So Radio 1, the first 30 years, Part 1, will air next week. You’ll hear about the station itself, many of its documentary programmes which were groundbreaking at the time, and there’s a large section on the making of the jingles too.
