Can you hear me? The Mosen Explosion, inspired by the Accident on the Machine! #MosenOnAir
It is my fervent hope that you will join me live! Live I tell you, for a four-hour extravaganza of utter nonsense. Yes it’s Mosen Explosion time again. And what a baffling, confusing little set of origins the theme for this week’s show has.
See, I was sitting on the machine actually, you know, the machine we must all sit on from time to time. In fact, it says here in this article I’m reading, that people with smartphones spend more time on the machine than people without smartphones. You’re a better person for knowing that, eh?
So as I was, like, saying, so I was sitting on the machine, listening to a podcast actually about the present New Zealand Government. It’s kind of fitting that when you’re sitting on the machine, you’re listening to a load of…Anyway, as I say, I was sitting on the machine, when all of a sudden, quick as you like, without warning, in the blink of an eye, voom! Click! Silence in one ear! Weirdness, I thought. I became quite flushed, even before the machine was! Perhaps the battery in my new-fangled, super-duper, high tech hearing aid had gone flatterated, without the usual warning beeps and bongs. So after completing my appointment with the machine, and washing my hands of course since that’s very important, I inserted a fresh and exciting new battery. However, it was of grave concern that I noted there was still silence in that ear! Bah! Bah I said!
I’m going to have to send the hearing aids off to the hearing aid vet! This, with the help of the incredible Heidi Banana, I managed to do late on Friday afternoon, so the hearing aid vet will have them when they get back to woik on Monday.
This means though, that I am temporarily limping along, in a hearing context, with my 2007 hearing aids. Hearing technology has advanced a soup of a lot since then, I tell you, and I’m not ‘appy! Not ‘appy!
Nevertheless, does whining change the situation? Does being grumpy change the situation! Does wishing the problem away change the situation? Altogether now, no! No it does flaming not! Ya gotta be thankful for all the many good things in your life and get on with living!
As part of the gratitude process, I realised that the hearing aid on the machine crisis has given me a great theme for the Mosen Explosion that was previously themeless. We’re going to feature songs, and your requests about songs concerning listening or hearing. If you have one you’d like to hear, then get in touch via the Twitter or the email. Heidi and Nicola are along with a Banana Report, we have an exciting Bonnie Bulletin, there’s plenty of wacky wacky news, and we’ll look back at the 27th of July in years gone by.
There is plenty more fun planned, so I do hope you’ll join me at 2 PM Eastern, 7 PM in the UK, right here on The Bell.
