It's a very special edition of the jolly old Mosen Explosion this week, as we celebrate too magnitudenous events in Beatles history simultaneously, concurrently, and at the same time as well.
57 years ago, which coincidentally was in 1957, John Lennon met Paul McCartney, beginning the greatest partnership in the history of music. Just seven short years later, a half century ago, their movie, "A Hard Day's Night", premiered in London. The incredible soundtrack to the album was released just days later.

Hi everyone.
Regular listeners to Welcome To The Weekend will have heard a number of times me referring to Baby A and Baby B on the show. A few weeks earlier than expected, I am delighted to tell you that Luke John, and Rachel Margaret Dalton arrived safely into the world on Tuesday 1st July last. Luke weighed in at 4 pounds 2 ounces, and Rachel at 3 pound 14. They regularly danced to various feel good tunes that were played, like Timber by Kesha, and Summer by Calvin Harris.

Hello Listeners
It doesn’t seem right having a Movie Night considering we are having gorgeous weather here, it’s not really what you want to do, draw the curtains and chill out on the sofa with a great movie. What about those lucky people who can go to a drive-in and watch a latest blockbuster? For one week only, let’s be like those people, grab the popcorn and head off to watch their favourite movie in the sunshine.
I have been catching up on a few fantastic movies recently myself and the soundtracks to some of these are just wonderful.

During the past few weeks, we’ve had a couple of themes on the Music Machine where some songs have been left over. There have been too many good ones which have fitted into the theme, we’ve been talking about them, and the time has just run away. So this week, I’ll play those which remain.
Firstly, and indeed for the majority of the show, we’ll be hearing songs with speech rather than singing. If you can think of a song which mainly contains speech, do feel free to let me know so we can complete our playing of these.

As the Hollies famously sang, all I need is the air that I breathe...and to love you...and my computer...and my iPhone...and a nice house...oh and one of those nice cheesy rolls from the bakery. But really you know, when all is said and done and tweeted, your air supply is pretty important. And that's why we're saluting Air Supply, whose lead vocalist, Russell Hitchcock is celebrating his 65th birthday. They've done some great stuff, Air Supply, and if you'd like to request any Air Supply tracks, you would be most welcome.
