Christmas traditions are fun, and over the last few years, we've developed the tradition of bringing you the Christmas parade from here in Wellington, New Zealand's capital, on the Mosen Explosion. Although we're maintaining that tradition this year, the recording technique is all new, as we went out to the parade equipped only with an iPhone 6 Plus and a Zoom IQ5 plugged into the Lightning port. I believe it's given us our best recording of a parade yet. Heidi will be giving us expert audio description of all the floats, and Bonnie will be offering her comments.

I am the exploding DJ. It's that time of the week once again, where we get together and aimlessly explode for a while, taking our mind off the presents we haven't yet bought.
One of the great singer/songwriters of the 20th century, Harry Chapin, was born on 7 December 1942. He is one of my favourite musical artists of all time. He had that rare ability to capture a story and distill it in song. So, although we have plenty of holiday music in the mix, Harry Chapin is also our featured artist this week. We'll be glad to take your requests.

It's that time of the week again, where we forget our worries and explode for a while. How cool is this!
90 years ago today, Allan Sherman was born. He left us with some great pieces of comedy, and we'll be playing a few on the show. We'd be delighted to get your Allan Sherman requests.
It's also the 60th birthday of June Pointer of The Pointer Sisters. Now didn't they do some fine tunes, eh? So we'll also gladly take your Pointer Sisters requests.

We're just over a month away from when Santa comes down the chimney, eats your food and rinks your beer. Well, at least, we leave him beer in New Zealand, what do you leave him?
In the United States, people will be heading home for thanksgiving later this week, and things are just starting to feel fun, fine, fantastic, frivolous, festive, fantastic, oh wait I said fantastic before...um...feline...no that doesn't make sense.

Let's start at the very beginning, which I'm sure you will agree is a very good place to start! The Mosen Explosion is back again with a few of your favourite things. We're celebrating the 55th anniversary of the broadway musical debut of The Sound of Music. People seem never to tire of those tunes, and we'll gladly play your favourites on the show this week.

After a wee break, I'm back with you for another four hours of explosive fun. And all the time zones have now settled into their new slots for another few months, which means I get to start my show at 8 AM my time. How positively civilised is this?
Here in New Zealand, we still keep the rather bizarre tradition, inherited from England, where we commemorate or celebrate the failed gun powder plot of 5 November. This is the time of year where we let off plenty of fireworks. This year, we could even get fireworks delivered with the pizza!

Yet again, we're at another crazy time of year where clocks are going forward, and clocks are going back. Sometimes, clocks are even going sideways, but usually this requires an earthquake or a toddler out of control. Most of the time, clocks go tick tock, but at other times, they go tock tick. On rare occasions, if the clocks are syncopated, they go toackatickitytoacktockatocka.
The clocks are going back in the UK and Europe tonight, but you can still here the Mosen Explosion here on The Bell at 7, just like usual, well, except when I'm stricken.

45 years ago this Sunday, a comedic phenomenon exploded on to British television screens. It had such an impact that their reunion earlier this year was anticipated globally. But their first ever TV show was broadcast on 5 October 1969. We are, of course, talking about Monty Python, one of the funniest comedy groups ever.

It's time once again for another incredible, edible Mosen Explosion! Ah, but what time is that, you ask? Well it's still 2 PM Eastern and 7 in the UK. But here in little New Zealand, our clocks went forward, causing a major eruption in the space/time continuum, which means that I get to sleep in an hour later and start the show at 7 AM NZ time.

It's time once again for another dreadful Mosen Explosion, the show that makes political platitudes look spontaneous.
It's been an absorbing week for people like me who are political junkies. The Scottish referendum was a fascinating process to watch, and here in New Zealand, we've just concluded our national elections.
