Welcome To The Weekend

Hi everyone. After a busy week, it will be my pleasure to offer you a warm Welcome To The Weekend on www.the-bell.net, on Friday at 7 PM in Ireland and the UK, or 2 PM on the East Coast of America. On offer to lift your mind and body from the stresses of the week, into the freedom of the weekend is a bunch of fantastic feel good music, mixed with a helping of friendly banter, live from Dublin Town on the East Coast of Ireland.

All the usual features will be up for grabs for you to enjoy. Such as:

Kick-Start. This opening tune of the show will get your weekend on the right road. This week we play a big hit from 1979 that won’t bring you down.

Double-Take. At the bottom of the first hour, we hear two tracks by the one artist. This time we hear from an artist that has gone through several name changes but still remains as popular as he was when he begun making music in the late 1970’s. Prince is our featured artist this weekend.

The Irish Connection. Exactly one hour later we hear two tracks from two different Irish artists. There is a bunch of talented artists on this little island of Ireland, and in this slot I expose you to some of them. This week we hear from an artist who has just released his debut self titled album, and a front man in a very popular Beatles cover band, who will play at a Beatles Festival in Dublin in November this year.

The One That Got Away. This slot in the show features tracks that don’t get much if any radio airplay. A forgotten single or an album track is on offer here. This week I have chosen a single from 1983, from a classic album from a band from Texas in the US.
