Flying Into The Zone!
Hi All
I can hardly believe Friday is almost here and time to get in The Zone once again. I very much hope you can join me for four full hours of fun and madness at 4 pm eastern, that’s 9 pm in the UK on www.the-bell.net.
All the features will be there for your enjoyment, the Music Madness quiz, the Guess the Year competition and the famous Wheel of Fortune. The theme this week for the Wheel of Fortune is “Flying”. This is partly down to a couple of listeners taking themselves off to Newcastle county Down last Saturday for the Air Show and also, this day next week, I’ll be flying off on my holiday. The songs that I am looking for can have the following words in the title: Fly, Flying, Flies, Sky, Aeroplane, Cloud … you get the picture I’m sure! Let’s not forget those songs that are about flying but do not mention it in the title. There are quite a lot of songs we can have and I’m sure between us all, we will come up with some crackers!
It’s the second week of the four hour show and oh how the four hours flew in last week, it was absolutely amazing thanks to all you wonderful listeners! In the third hour, I would like to welcome you all into my pub, “Cosgrove’s Cronies” the “Cronies” being you, the listeners! I’ve managed to get some extra funds from the big boss on The Bell and have a jukebox just for you! Are you disappointed that the wheel never picks your song or that we completely run out of time and you don’t get to hear it? The third hour is a perfect way of ensuring you will never be disappointed again! All the jukebox needs is plenty of requests and we will be flying, there’s that word again! Your requests can be anything you want, whatever you feel like hearing while you have a wee drink in “Cosgrove’s Cronies” bar. The Club Mixes went down well last week so they will be kicking off the third hour again, this will give you time to get the drinks ordered and hopefully, get yourself a seat!
Madonna is celebrating her birthday on Saturday and I would love to hear all your Madonna requests. Going through her older albums made me realise, there are so many fantastic songs she did back in the day, we tend to hear the same ones over again. I have picked out songs from the 1986 True Blue album but of course, as always, you can add to these or completely take over which is what usually happens and it’s wonderful!
On Tuesday 19 August, I will be taking part in the MacMillan Cancer Research week with TopTunes FM. I will be co-hosting a show with Danny Miles, “The Noughty Zone”, this is our two shows combined and it will be a lot of fun and for a wonderful cause. The show will be on at 4 pm eastern, 9 pm in the UK for two hours and you can hear it on both stations.
